App crashes immediately. Please fix.
Besides the terrible support (see below), the app is a joke. How do you send articles out weekly, but the app is a glorified PDF of the print magazine. Might be covering fast companies, but your approach to experience is antiquated. Update: Finally heard from support 3 MONTHS LATER. Fast Company has slow support to say the least. If you get a subscription & wanna use this app, just don’t expect help before you’re well into your subscription. Same issue as others. Signed up for a year digital subscription on the website. Confirmed email & set up account/password. Go to log into the app. Doesn’t recognize my email. Do some digging in help, and apparently you need an account number to access the app. Only problem is no account number is listed in my online profile & none sent via email. So, why aren’t these just connected automatically? I will update my review once I get access, but how is this any way to run your system?
There appears to be no way to access issues if you’re a digital subscriber. What’s worse is that there’s no way to send a help message because despite signing in the app tells me I don’t have an email address. Horrible user experience. I have no idea how this has a 4.2 rating when almost all of the reviews are 1 or 2 stars, all seeming to report the same issues.
Can’t get the app to recognize credentials set up on web site
I’m the past 12 months as a subscriber I only received 3 issues. Scammer 🚨
I first paid for an annual subscription online, which does not sync to the app so I couldn’t read it on my phone. Then I tried to pay for a monthly subscription on my phone, but that does not let you read the actual magazines. So far I have paid twice and have read nothing………
I initially setup my account on the web-based version. When I try to sign-on to the app it states that the email does not exist. I’ve notified through the contact function, but it’s yet to be resolved.
Often the App does not let me access the content, even after I paid for a subscription.
The Home Screen of the app is a jumbled mess. Despite having both an online and print subscription, it always has a timer telling me I have a minute or two of free reading before I need to subscribe. Even after logging in, it never seems to recognize me as a paying reader. I love the articles, but the app experience is like kindergarten. A shame because, again, I like the articles more than articles from other publications that I pay more for.
I have already paid for a membership but is hard to use the app in different devices or open content from external links. It always assumes you’re not a subscriber. The web and app experience are disconnected and apparently it seems like you have separate accounts. What a mess.
Love your content, want to pay for premium, but this is simply a poorly designed app. Cannot even read the headlines because of obnoxious images behind the text with no shadow or dimming on the image.
Can’t connect to new account
L
Can’t activate or link to a current subscription. 💩
I had a yearly subscription through the old app but this new app seems to be unable to pull up account info for anything that happened in the previous app. Not great since the last issue available in the old app is Sept 2018. Not sure how Fast Company could have missed that scenario in building this new app. Pretty terrible customer experience. Cancelled my subscription and won’t be renewing.
Loved the old app but have had endless trouble trying to download and access subscription the last several months. Enormously disappointing considering some of my favorite parts about FC - innovation / tech / creativity. Surprised a new overhaul hasn’t come out given feedback going back several months.
I bought a subs on iTunes and I am having infinite trouble just logging in. This is 2019. The process should be smooth and easy. Way too complicated. Unhappy. Even providing a nickname to post this negative review is a hassle. But since I’m now doubly irked I’m motivated to trudge thru the process just so I can post this unfavorable review. Terrible job reducing the friction. Fast Company??? Not from my perspective.
Worthless. Paid $20 and it won’t let me reset a pw
FC is supposed to be about tech, yet their digital app is unusable. Each issue is slightly different, some can be acccessed offline, most can’t. Fix this. Your old app was actually something I could read on a plane. This new one is horrendous...makes me want to rethink my whole subscription if you guys cannot fix your own tech, much less write about it.
I’m used to modern periodical apps: New York Times etc. This is photos of magazine pages. Really? Hello, it’s 2019.
I still like the content, but the new format for the app is rather annoying. Seems like they. Wanted to take it as far from the feel of a paper magazine as possible, but this was done in a way that is not user friendly.
This app took a total turn for the worse. It used to be a nice, slick app to read my subscription and now it’s just a cheap PDF version. For the other articles FC puts out, I’m reading via the News app already so not sure what the intent was here. I love FC so I’ll keep reading the paper version but this app is garbage for reading the mag. P.S. If you’re looking for my standard to compare this app to, look at the Wired app.
The old app has all my old copies. For some reason, I can’t transfer those here. I’d even accept a way to purchase all the back issues... just not at $4.99 each.
This app is the absolute worst. I keep having to write to Fast Co to reinstate my subscription from iTunes because it says I don’t have a subscription (which I definitely do and it has not expired) or that my email is incorrect (I only have one). I’ve canceled the subscription altogether out of sheer frustration.
I’m not impressed. The design of the app is dated. It takes a long time to turn pages and the pages take too long to render. I’d rather page through the actual magazine. The user experience of this iPad app leaves a lot to be desired.
Horrible app, slow, full of bugs, difficult log in
This app stinks. Not sure why/how they messed it up so much but it makes me want to cancel my subscription.
The app requires an active internet connection to read. I downloaded the latest issue but when I’m offline the articles are grayed out and I can’t tap on them.
I usually read offline primarily, but the offline access on this app does not work, even if each issues says it is available offline. I am months behind now and reading other magazines because of the inconvenience. Amazing how such a tech and innovation forward company can get an update so backwards, and not fix the shortcoming in any update since its major release.
Love the magazine but this new app is a step backwards. Breaking out articles is clunking and ruins the experience. The sleekness of the previous app was a plus to the digital subscription. Now I’m wondering should I bother keeping it because this new app looks like someone in charge owed a favor to a family member who knows how to “code.” Please do the right thing and go back to forward thinking. All these one stars cannot be wrong.
The user experience for FC’s app has always been poor, but the latest update rendered the app unusable. I deleted the app, canceled my auto renewal and won’t be coming back.
The new app is really frustrating. November 2018 just came out and it’s not even showing in my app. (1) Not being able to access offline even if it says if ‘available offline’ (2) Trying to save (click star in each article, which is frankly shouldn’t be the case if you want to access the issue offline) but it’s asking for an account number I don’t have (3) New issue not in this app
I just renewed in July through iTunes (as I have every year since 2013!) New app wants account number. THERE is no account number. I’ve gone round and round via email, each time being told to enter the nonexistent account number, and even called your hard copy folks. RESTORE my subscription!
I have had a subscription for years. I have put in my subscription information and the app refuses to retain the information and requires me to enter the information EVERY TIME I want to read the magazine. It is not worth having and I am deleting the application. A good magazine company, like Condé Nast would never let this piece of junk out of garage. Terrible.
I really like Fast Company magazine and the various articles about innovative companies and innovative leaders. However, the digital version of the magazine is very poorly constructed with very cumbersome navigation. Periodicals and newspapers like the New York Times, which have been around for many years, have a better iPhone navigation then Fast Company. Your digital navigation should be in keeping with the overall theme of your magazine - innovation.
What a terrible experience. Do not waste your time. No support, no updates, no good!
Love the magazine but the new app is not usable offline. I’ve downloaded a few issues for offline reading and they say they are available offline, but when you’re not connected to the internet the articles show grey and cannot be read. I tried logging into my account but it does not recognize my login. I validated my login info on the website but the app does not recognize my account. This new app is almost unusable.
This app is useless...literally can’t read a single article
I downloaded the new app and it is not recognizing my iTunes subscription. This is very frustrating. Please fix this glitch.
Purchases not recognized, had to cancel my subscription and resubmit one.
Would of been nice if subscription had transferred emailed the publisher at Fast Company .....no response
The new app is slow and each article has to be downloaded separately. No longer reads like a magazine, but now a series of articles, more like having access to a paid news site than a magazine. Had an existing subscription, and forced to extend subscription which was easy to pay for with my finger tip, accessing what I paid for twice is more difficult. Disappointed my time is valuable, worth more to me than the hassle involved with this new app. Love your content, not your new app.
I’ve being paying an iPad subscription for a while (5 years i think) They changed the app, w/o notice , the new app does not recognize my user... and yet , they continue to charge.. funny, they supposed to know tech ....
I have subscribed to this forward thinking mag for years. However for the past year your app performance is disgraceful Every other publication that I read digitally has upgraded their app to function on an I pad and recognizes ITunes subscriptions After waiting 30 days to get an email response from your help desk notifying me of the new app. Which I could not access with my iTunes subscription. I cancelled
Already have print subscription and they require an additional all access to use the app. Can only be Nicole and dimensions so much, value not there.
Repeatedly I get alerts/notifications that don't take me the article that's mentioned. So delete....
This is too slow and didn't think about current people's reading experience. I will be happy this is like Facebook instant article.
This app continues to impress. I thought I would come through and update my review. I stand by my initial review and have since take to using the Fast Company magazine app as well. This has by far become one of my favorite mediums to consume my reading. 30 minutes in and I love it already. There are few magazines that can publish an app and get it right. Fast Company does not disappoint. This app is quick and responsive. Articles are just "there" and the interface is smooth. I can see me using this on a daily basis to catch up on lots of reading. And I look forward to seeing how subscriptions are integrated into the app as well. Great Job!
